General Visa Application Process Information
The Embassy will not consider any documents sent via mail or fax.
Applicants need to have a complete packet of documents when coming
to the visa section.
1. You may only submit your application to the visa section upon
prior scheduled appointment which can be done:
- Over the telephone: +38 (044) 594 96 20 / +38 050 1179030
- Mailing or faxing the documents to the visa section is forbidden.
2. Submission hours of the visa section are 8.30-13.00, Monday
through Friday. (upon appointment).
3. Short term visas may be issued the same day in case a complete
packet of documents is submitted by the applicant and there are
no obstacles for issuing a visa. Visa Section staff may request
additional documents based on the specifics of the application.
For those who are not citizens of Ukraine visa processing time may
be longer due to additional interviews being required.
4. Visa application processing time to the Oversees territories
is up to 10 days due to interviews required.
5. Long term visa application process takes 10 to 30 weeks form
the application date.
Due to the Embassy procedure, the reasons for
short term visa refusal are not being stated.
6. Starting 1st January 2003, based on the European Union Council
decision, the fee for issuing a visa is substituted with the fee
for considering the application, which is paid at the moment the
application is launched. In case of refusal, the fee is not refundable.
Attention
Starting July the 1st 2006, the visa fee is paid in euros only.
- Short term visa:35 €
- Visa to certain African countries: 35 €
- Long term visa: 99 €
- Visa for adoption: 15 €
- Short term Oversees Territories visa: 9 €
7. Citizens of CIS under 18 years of age, spouses of French nationals
and scholars of French government are exempt from visa fee.
